3,000+ brands keeping content fresh on Indexly

1. Refresh triggers
Know what needs updating — before it drops
Content decay is silent. Indexly runs four trigger signals per page continuously — outdated stats, ranking drops, AI citation loss, and competitor updates — so you catch decay early and refresh proactively, not reactively.
- Detect outdated content — stats, examples, product info
- Spot ranking drops + traffic decay early
- Track AI visibility loss — pages no longer cited in answers
- Monitor competitor updates — they refreshed, you didn't

3. Freshness impact
Turn freshness into a measurable growth signal
A baseline is captured pre-refresh. The impact view shows the diff at 7, 14 and 30 days post-refresh — Google rank, AI citation share per engine, organic traffic, AI referral traffic and Freshness Score — so freshness becomes proof, not a vibe.
- Before vs after on rank, traffic, citations and Freshness Score
- AI citation recovery — getting back into answers you'd lost
- Per-page update history with one-click rollback
- Freshness Score trend — protect long-term content health

What customers say
Trusted by SEO and AI visibility teams
“Refresh caught 14 of our top glossary pages losing AI citation share two weeks before traffic dropped. We rolled refresh on all of them — citations recovered to baseline in 11 days.”
Pim Broekstra
SEO Manager, Center Parcs
“The competitor-update trigger is genuinely new. We refreshed three pages within hours of ahrefs and semrush updating theirs — held our rank and our share of AI citations.”

What is Indexly's Content Refresh?
Three layers — refresh triggers (detect decay before it drops your rankings or AI citations), AI-driven refresh (auto-update what matters), and freshness impact (prove the lift on rank, traffic and AI citations across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and AI Overviews).
What signals does Indexly use to detect content decay?
Four signals run continuously per page: outdated content (stats, examples, product info older than your freshness threshold), ranking drops (Google position slipping), AI visibility loss (no longer cited in AI answers), and competitor updates (a competing page just got refreshed).
What does AI-driven refresh actually change?
Outdated sections get current data, new sections are added for emerging AI queries, internal links refresh against your latest content, and the page is rewritten for evolving conversational and comparative phrasing that AI engines prefer. URL, slug, voice and structure are preserved.
Why do AI engines care about content freshness?
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and AI Overviews preferentially cite recent, current sources. Pages with outdated stats get demoted in citation ranking even when their structure is solid. Refresh restores the freshness signal without losing the AEO/GEO patterns that earned the citation.
Will refresh break my existing rankings?
No. URLs, slugs, canonical tags and on-page link structure are never changed. The impact tracker confirms rank stability before and after every refresh, with rollback available per page.
How is the freshness lift measured?
Baseline captured pre-refresh — Google rank, AI citation share per engine, AI mention count, organic traffic, AI referral traffic, Freshness Score. Diff shown at 7, 14 and 30 days post-refresh.
Single page or bulk?
Both. One-click refresh on any page, or workspace policies that auto-refresh everything below a freshness threshold (e.g. Freshness Score < 60 or AI citation share dropped > 20%). Bulk runs respect rate limits.
Which CMS platforms are supported?
WordPress, Webflow and Ghost natively. Indexly republishes with the same URL and auto-submits to Google Indexing API + Bing IndexNow so refreshed pages re-crawl in hours.
